Adey SteelShop has been involved in the transformation of the landmark 'Pepper Pot' building in Derby.
The Victorian structure, previously part of the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary, is one of the flagship projects of the £175m 18.5 acre Nightingale Quarter development in the city.
Adey SteelShop was appointed by the developer to supply and install a steel frame, consisting of approximately 15 tonnes of variously sized hot rolled steelwork and Metsec purlins, as part of a roof extension for Pepper Pot North.
It also manufacturered and installed a feature spiral staircase that leads up to a chequer plate first floor landing area with steel vertical bar edge protection balustrade and vertical bar balustrades and wall rails to several external stairways. Now complete, Pepper Pot North is scheduled to become a new restaurant, 'bijou' cocktail bar and cafe in early 2024.
