Adey SteelShop has installed a galvanised steel gantry platform for the Anstey Wallpaper Company.
The steel fabrication and processing specialists were appointed by the Anstey Wallpaper Company, the UK’s largest contract wallcovering printer, to turn a 3D model into a single storey galvanised steel platform with metal roof sheet built around an existing tank at their headquarters on the outskirts of Loughborough.
The Adey SteelShop team fabricated over seven tonnes of steel prior to the installation at its facility in the town. This included open grid flooring together with Z purlins on the roof. All handrails were manufactured using key clamp fittings and galvanised tubing.
Due to space restrictions, the install by the Adey SteelShop Project Management team was highly challenging, with only a one metre working area available around the existing structure. Undeterred, the team were still able to sight a 40 tonne crane within the working area available as well as use a locally-sourced small access platform together with a single width scaffold tower in order to complete the install within the allocated two week window.
