Adey SteelShop receives visit from Bank of England
Andrew Bailey, the Governor of the Bank of England, made a special visit to Adey SteelShop.
Andrew, who was the Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) prior to becoming Governor of the Bank of England in 2020, took time out from his busy schedule to tour the company’s purpose-built factory in Loughborough.
The 64-year-old, who was born in Leicestershire, spent several hours in his home county with colleagues from the Bank of England gaining an insight into the structural and architectural work done by the award-winning, family-owned-and-operated business. He also met with the company’s current welder / fabricator apprentices.
Adey SteelShop is one of the UK’s leading structural steel specialists. Part of the Adey Steel Group, Adey SteelShop provides specialist steel fabrication and processing services to the construction, engineering and residential housebuilding sectors.
Andrew Adey, Managing Director of the Adey Steel Group, explained: “It was a real pleasure to provide Andrew Bailey and his team from the Bank of England with an insight into the work we do at Adey SteelShop supporting a number of key sectors in the UK economy.”
