Adey Steel Group Take On Two New Students
Adey Steel Group has taken on two new students through Year in Industry (YINI), the UK's leading student placement service.
Andy Leather joins the company for 12 months as Business Improvement Assistant and Ihtasham Chaudhry for 12 months as Systems Developer in IT. The YINI students are part of a work placement scheme run by EDT who we are working closely with and whose mission is to inspire future engineers and scientists. The scheme offers industries the best-of-the-best and both Andy and Ihtasham were carefully selected before being awarded their posts at Adey Steel Group.
YINI offers paid career development work placements for students completing A-levels, Scottish Highers or equivalent qualifications or as part of a university sandwich year. Students who have taken part in this scheme in their gap year before or during their degree course have said that the experience helped their career prospects considerably.
This is the first year that we have used EDT’s YINI service to provide students for interview but the scheme is popular among forward-thinking companies as a way to encourage capable and enthusiastic talent into their business. EDT says it aims to secure roles for students that are challenging, interesting and invaluable for their future. Free to students, the service provides CV coaching, interview training, business awareness and one-to-one mentoring.
