Adey SteelShop played a key role in the transformation of a derelict Victorian Mill into 76 stylish one and two bedroom luxury apartments in Loughborough.
Adey SteelShop, which is also based in the famous university town, was involved in both phases of the prestigious redevelopment of the former Hosiery Mill, which dates back to the 1880s, into The Mill.
The design for the landmark project, part of the wider Waterside Village, took inspiration from the Mill’s past, retaining much of its rich heritage including bullnose brick detailing and decorative stops together with its iconic chimney. Adey SteelShop was tasked with creating a roof steelwork substructure to allow for the lightweight structured penthouse apartments to be installed on top, fixed via columns mounted to the existing timber joists in addition to pad stone bearing walls.

The second phase of the development, known as The Wharf, involved Adey SteelShop constructing a 50 tonne heavy section transfer deck on the ground floor for the second phase of the high profile building to be placed on top - creating car parking spaces for the 55 one, two and three-bedroom apartments below in the process.
