Adey SteelShop has supported the regeneration of the Diglis Basin and Docks in Worcester.
The Diglis Basin, also known as the Diglis Waterside and Marina, is where the Worcester and Birmingham Canal joins the River Severn.
Officially opened in 1815, in recent years the Diglis Basin and surrounding area became part of a ‘Riverside Conservation Area’ by Worcester City Council.
And, as part of a scheme to bring new life to the area, and attract more visitors to this popular destination, the land around Diglis Basin and Docks was transformed into over 400 new homes plus a hotel, gym and also a community centre.
Adey SteelShop was appointed by the developer to design, manufacture, supply and also install a range of architectural metalworks as part of a five-phase redevelopment of the site.
This included providing balcony balustrades with glass infils, Juliet balconies plus internal staircase balustrade and handrails for a number of the communal properties. A dedicated team from the Loughborough-based structural steel specialists also fitted an entrance canopy and balustrades as part of the project.
Adey SteelShop has worked on a variety of residential housebuilding projects in recent years in the West Midlands. These include Woodlands Park, a housing development in the heart of the Blythe Valley Park in Solihull and the Knox Court Retirement Living PLUS project in the centre of Rugby.
